ELK 250g

Basic Instincts™ Cat Elk formula is a good “red” protein often used as an alternative to or variation from beef. It is a good alternative because it is lower in fat and higher in taurine.

Recognizing that Elk is not animal that a cat would eat in the wild, Basic Instincts™ Cat Elk is a high lean muscle meat. This meal is high in protein and iron – both necessary for a balanced diet.

It is important for cats to get a variety of different meats in order to meet their nutritional needs and we know that some cats really enjoy a variety of tastes and textures in their diet.

DUCK 250g

Basic Instincts™ Cat Duck formula is great alternative to white meat for many cats. We have listed it as an exotic meat due to the high fat content. As duck is higher in fat than chicken or turkey we start by using use whole duck and add additional wings and necks to increase the lean muscle tissue percentage in our meals.

Duck should only be used a supplemental meat unless otherwise directed by a veterinarian. Duck does not fall into the same white meat category and therefore should not be fed a sole source of white meats.

RABBIT 250g

Basic Instincts™ Cat Rabbit formula is a good choice for owners seeking a lean meat for their cat. Formulated using the whole rabbit, this meal provides a good distribution of muscle fibers. Rabbit is particularly good for its calcium-to-fat ratio, and is a well-suited protein for inclusion in a maintenance diet.

CAMEL 250g

Basic Instincts™ Cat Camel formula is another rare protein source for cats. As such we recommend using our Camel formula with cats who have allergies or need a completely different protein source. Used as a ‘novel’ protein source for shorter periods of time, this formula can be used as the base for an elimination diet (i.e. a diet fed under the guidance of a vet in order to identify what allergies your cat has.)

Over many years we have found that this formula has been really helpful for overweight cats who are needing to slim down. Camel is very low fat. In middle eastern cultures, camel meat is used as a cholesterol reducer for humans as it has a really good source of linoleic acid.

SALMON 500g (4 x 125g)

Basic Instincts™ Cat Salmon formula is big hit in the feline community! Cats love the taste.

For centuries, coastal cats have been eating fish as a staple part of their diet. Salmon is a great source for Omega 3 & 6 essential fatty acids which can keep your cat’s fur healthy and shiny.

The whole coho salmon is used in our formula along with lamb organ meats. This is not a complete diet formula and therefore should be fed not more than a couple of times a week.
