Bella was rescued from the Prince George SPCA in November 2006 after she was abandoned at the shelter at the age of 10 1/2 years young by the family who had had her from a puppy.
Bella had been at the SPCA for over a month and was frightened and extremely stressed, sadly we were told she was going to be put down the next day. We had stopped at the shelter to make a donation, and we left with Bella, the SPCA manager and staff shed a few tears and thanked us for saving her.
Bella was a funny girl who really didn't get along with anyone except for me and one of our pups named Dakota.
Bella, was a purebred Chesapeake Bay Retriever, she was a beautiful girl who loved her treats and food. She was happiest eating, but she loved going for walks with me. While the other dogs would run and play, she would stick by my side and it seemed that every walk I took with her, she would look at me as if to say 'Thank You'.
Bella was with us for almost 2 years, she passed away in October 2008 from congestive heart failure. She was not with us long, but I always look back fondly on our time together.
